Dear Muddy Runners,
Thank you for entering The Christmas 5km Trail Event. Get ready for a festive run packed with holiday cheer and a scenic trail to enjoy. You are one of the lucky ones as this event is now FULL with no on-the-day entries. Now's the time to plan your outfit - dig out your Santa hats, reindeer antlers, or go all out with a full elf or snowman costume! Every finisher will receive a medal and a delicious cake to celebrate your achievement. Detailed below is some important information about the event. DATE: Sunday 15th December 2024
LOCATION: HMP Kirklevington Grange, Kirklevington Grange, Yarm TS15 9PA
REGISTRATION: Opens at 09:00am In the Kirklevington Grange Café.
EVENT STARTS: 10:00am
RACE NUMBER: You will collect your race number on the day in registration.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Due to the nature of this event and running inside the prison grounds unfortunately NO WATCHES or MOBILE PHONES will be permitted (sorry), so please leave them in your car. The race is chip-timed so you will get your results as soon as possible.
COURSE (click on the link) : 5km Route Details
The course starts on a flat tarmac road just to the left of the café (registration) you will then head straight along the road before turning right at the Prison fence, you will then run-on grass around the perimeter of the Prison (along the high fence) once you reach adjacent to the car park you with then keep to the left and head along the trail path (through the woodland). You will then cross the road and back onto the grass where you will stay left and do 2 full loops of the outer perimeter through the trails. Once heading back on the big 2nd loop you with then take a right turn straight through the high metal gates into the prison grounds, you will then turn left along the tarmac before doing a full lap of the field inside the prison. Once off the field you will then head back towards the start on the tarmac road to the finish. The finish is near the same place as the start so make sure you run over both the blue mats that will be laid out on the floor once the race has set off. There will be white directional arrows to help guide you but marshals on all key spots.
PARKING: FREE parking is available at the prison. There is also additional parking near the café (use the bays). IMPORTANT you MUST NOT park on the road alongside the prison, this is part of the run route and therefore you cannot obstruct it by parking your car there. The race will not start until all cars are removed off the road.
FACILITIES: Toilet facilities are available and a fantastic café. Please note the toilets are limited to avoid queues please use the loo before you arrive.
FIRST AID: There will be First aiders on site. If you require attention/help during the race or after, please ask any marshal who will contact the first aiders.
FACEBOOK SCAMMERS: Please be aware that there are facebook scammers who will post to say they are selling their tickets as they can no longer attend the event. Tickets/places are not transferred/bought in this way. Any transfers are carried out through Muddy Roads, if in doubt please contact us before paying anyone for a place.
TRANSFERS: If you can no longer attend the event you can transfer your place to another person, however, this must be done before Friday 13th any no-shows after this date you will simply lose your place. To transfer your place you must email the details of the person taking your place to events@muddyroads.co.uk. We will need their: Full Name, Date of Birth, Medical Conditions (if any), emergency contact details.

Prizes given for 1st 2nd and 3rd male and female winners. These will be given as the runners come through the finish.
